Delve into a secret library of artist's books this spring with a show dedicated to the genre. Installation, projection and experiments with paper technology will all be showcased. The exhibition also includes 'Excavating Babel' by Tina Hill the Agassi Book Arts Prize winner, 2009 who has transformed over 2000 books into a towering installation. The Solihull Artists’ Book fair is open to anyone who works in book arts and related disciplines: book artists, illustrators, designers, printmakers, paper-based artists and paper engineers, zine publishers… We’re really keen to hear from everyone who shares our love of books.
The cost for a full table is £15 for the whole day. A limited number of half-tables are available at £10
The Solihull Gallery is well positioned in the centre of town, right next to Touchwood shopping centre and the Central Library. It is an 8 minute walk from Solihull train station, which is a ten to 15 minute train ride from Birmingham City centre.

This is an International and travelling Festival and a selection of the pieces will be compilated in a catalogue, edited by Consulta, libri e progetti.

• Promouvoir l’édition artistique indépendante par la diffusion de livres, vidéos et cd d’artistes.

• Constituer un fond référent en matière d’édition indépendante artistique.
• proposer une programmation d’expositions ainsi que différents évènements
- Expositions d’artistes ayant une pratique artistique originale, préservant ce fil rouge qui fait la spécificité de LENDROIT : l’art et le papier.
- “semaines vitrine” consacrées à des structures éditrices afin de mettre en avant leurs productions.

The 2009 Southern Graphics Council Conference, hosted by Columbia College Chicago, will examine the Global Implications of our interdependence and cultures.
Printmaking is the art medium most responsive to changing technologies, but also retains many otherwise obsolete techniques. As print artists, we find ourselves uniquely situated. We employ the latest digital imaging tools and centuries-old techniques for hand mark-making. We make exquisite, precious objects and democratic gestures. We are able to share our imagery and processes with anyone, anytime while also creating community, dialog and collaboration in our own shops. |
